Could you pull together a fashion show in just a few days? We did!

Could you pull together a fashion show in just a few days? We did!

Most fashion shows take months to plan and execute so when Adin Smith, our social media manager, suggested we put one together to show off some of the amazing pieces we had in the shop in under a week, I was a bit skeptical.  I didn't think that there would be enough time to pull it all together but then decided, "What the heck. Let's just make it happen!

Everything started coming together quickly as soon as we began our planning. We managed to find enough women in a short space of time to "walk", largely due to the efforts of Taylor Powell, (featured above), whom I have known since she was four years old. She reached out on her various social media channels to find willing participants to strut their stuff on the runway. I also asked two young women that just happened to be shopping in the boutique the day before the show and they said they'd love to model as well.

We invited Lemon Lane Children's Consignment, lemonlaneconsignment.com to join in and, owner, Megan Laboy, was 100% up for it.

We decided to have the fashion show in between our two shops in Mr. Brown's Park. This seemed like the perfect place as Brown's Hardware has been in the Little City of Falls Church since 1883, right on the corner of Lee Highway and Route 7 (Broad Street)

Ben Powell, of PowellMediaConcepts.com , had his very own daughter modeling for Lemon Lane and graciously shared the photos he took of our models with us.

Here are some highlights from the catwalk.

Lia is wearing a Chanel tweed sleeveless linen blend dress, size 34. Ropes of real and faux pearls blend together perfectly, just as Coco would have done it.

Gabriella is wearing a pink and black stripe fleur du mal metallic dress. A vintage pink rhinestone butterfly pin is sassily affixed to the lower back of the knit dress. Crystal vintage necklaces pick up the light and create a delightful sparkle.

.
Victoria is wearing a 1960's pink, green and yellow gown. In case it gets chilly a vintage yellow mohair cardigan is ready to be thrown over her shoulders. A Miriam Haskell vintage faux pearl, three strand choker finishes the look.

Kathryn is wearing an Eva Franco plaid halter dress in navy and white in size 4. This dress is perfect for the daytime and when the weather turns chilly all you'll need is a jean jacket. Her sandals are by Prada.

Cat looks elegant in a flowing navy silk dress by Valentina Kova. Black ankle boots, leather gloves and a triple strand, faux pearl and crystal Vendome necklace bring it all together.

Jewel prowls like a tiger in Cavalli knit - Meow cat! Dress is size medium. The cadet blue suede jacket with black curly fur by L'Agence size s/m

Noelle wears the vintage brown halter dress as if they had her in mind when this little number was made. There is a self belt, and a rope tie down the side that finishes in a bow. Stuart Weitzman beige patent sandals are the perfect match for any dress.

Beth is stunning in a ruffled blue denim jacket, strapless blue, red, metallic Anthropologie dress, bakelite bangles and Givenchy vintage choker. Born fringe leather ankle boots make this outfit go for hours and hours with happy feet. Taylor shone in a black metallic, cropped top by Elliatt in small. A pleated wool skirt and calf black boots gives an updated modern look to a time-honored British Isle classic.
