"New To You has been my go-to consignment shop for years.....even before they moved to the Broad Street location. But last month when the Washingtonian Magazine came out with two pages of consignment shops I felt the urge to stray....to check out the others. I took a day off from work and plotted out my route, going from Gaithersburg, to Northwest DC, to Palisades, to Old Towne, Alexandria, to McLean, and then finishing up in Falls Church at New to You. The other shops were different, some OK, and some very difficult to shop because of the overage of inventory. But it was like coming home when I went into New to You. The staff is always friendly, the music is fun, and the clothes are carefully chosen so I do not have to go through tons of not-great stuff. The Washingtonian described the shop as the "best European", something that I had not noticed, but it is a place that almost always works for me. I have many key pieces of clothing that have come from NTY over the years and I have bought some just plain fun pieces. The prices are fair and I have benefited over the years from some wonderful sales. I love the shoes and handbags. I am not a jewelry/accessory person, but there is plenty for those who are. I just looked down as I was typing this and am wearing a "favorite" skirt....from you guessed it....NTY. I am a size 12+/14- and still find plenty in my size. I have shopped there being a 14W/16W/1X and still could find fun items, just not as much. If you have not ventured over to Falls Church, it is worth the trip. Hope you find lots of treasures.

you're tired of the overwhelming, impersonal mall experience
try New to You for something completely different. I walked
in and within 5 minutes my "personal shopper" had pulled
together a number of great possibilities for an evening
event. Everything is well arranged and accessible and the
staff is right there with a critical eye and great suggestions.
There is a great variety - clothes, accessories, shoes -
in a manageable space. It was really one of the most satisfying
shopping experiences I've had in a long time. Fabulous."

has probably been at least ten if not more, years that I
have been both a client and a friend of Chris'. Not only
are there fun, unique items, 'REAL FINDS' available but
there is a real feel of girl-next-door-neighborhood hang
out when I go in there. Things have grown and expanded over
the years from a fun little hideaway boutique into a funky
boutique with even more upscale items, not that the other
wasn't. I would highly recommend you stop by, notice the
great music, the candy on the counter always, and the great
windows by Liz and of course the great finds.- Dawn
